As summer settles in, landscapes across Central Illinois are entering their most vibrant phase. With longer days, warmer temperatures, and plenty of rain, June marks the height of the growing season—when thoughtful care and expert attention make all the difference. At Knob Hill, we’re embracing the energy of the season while continuing to grow, improve, and bring beauty to every property we serve.
🌿 Growing Expertise: Seasonal Color in Action
Our residential salesperson, Justin Allen, has led the way in developing our seasonal color program—and now he’s helping train the next generation of planter experts.
From intentional layout and proper scaling to carefully curated combinations of color and texture, our team is continuing to refine this craft. The result is eye-catching arrangements that make a lasting impression, even in the smallest spaces.
Seasonal planters are the perfect finishing touch, adding vibrant color and curb appeal to both residential and commercial properties—while reflecting the quality you’ve come to expect from Knob Hill.

Investing in Growth: Chicago Training Event
From June 15–17, Knob Hill owners Landon and Jamie Kirby, along with Operations Manager Mike O’Connor, attended the Landscaper Quarterly Intensive in Chicago.
This event focused on one key theme: people. Delivering exceptional service takes continuous effort, and we remain committed to investing time and resources into improving our processes. Opportunities like this allow us to grow as a team—and ultimately enhance your experience as a client.

💧 Summer Sourcing: Water Plants & Inspiration
If you love plants as much as we do, you understand the excitement of finding something truly unique. Because a wide variety of water plants can be hard to source locally, our team recently traveled to Ponds Plus Water Garden Center in St. Charles, MO.
This trip allows us to bring the highest-quality, most beautiful plants back to Springfield—enhancing the ponds and water features we create and maintain for you.

Welcome to the Team
Please join us in welcoming the newest member of our maintenance crew—Corey Knox!
If you’re part of our mowing or turf care program, you’ll likely see Corey out in your neighborhood this season. With turf growth in full swing thanks to recent rain and heat, we’re excited to have him on board helping keep your property looking its best.
Join Us: Rock the Dock Celebration
Knob Hill is proud to sponsor this year’s fireworks at Rock the Dock in celebration of America’s 250th birthday.
Join us at the Lake Springfield Marina on July 3, 2026, for an evening of live music from Dave Littrell and Stormfront, great food, family fun, and fireworks at dusk.
Don’t forget your lawn chairs, blankets, and festive spirit—it's a summer tradition we look forward to every year. Click below for event details and ticket information—we hope to see you there!
The Flowers of June

Rose
A timeless symbol of love and beauty, roses bloom throughout late spring and summer. Their rich colors, layered petals, and classic fragrance make them a standout feature in any garden or container.

Honeysuckle
Known for its sweet scent and delicate tubular blooms, honeysuckle attracts hummingbirds and pollinators alike. Often climbing along fences or trellises, it brings both color and movement to outdoor spaces.
